At the Opening of the Ministerial Conference, President Kibaki gave out awards organised by the AfDB to the 5 top exhibitors of the "Africa on the Move" Exchibition. After the award ceremony, the Kenyan President gave a speech opening the conference. the entire event was covered live on Kenyan TV (KTN).
